And don't forget that one of the great Law & Order/Homicide: Life on the Street crossover episodes is on TNT tonight (8-10 pm). It conflicts with the regular NBC broadcast, so you have to pick your loyalties.

I got a call from the L&O set dresser one time. She wanted to use a prop from a music video that I directed awhile back. It never happened but I still have her contact info in case Gothamist wants to do a proper interview. Do you do interviews on Gothamist or just commentary?

No way- it would go like this: "Scene: grimey lower east side apartment, after midnight. Bedroom- an old man lying next to his wife. Loud music is pouring through the window from the bar/club/restaurant downstairs. Old man exclaims "jesus- goddamn racket!" and moves to the window to scream some more obscenities. Just as he gets to the window, a series of three loud guns shots rings out. Man dives for the phone and rings 911."

Lock, my guess is that your apartment would have been a crime scene. The opening: A bunch of cute, lingerie-clad girls are hanging out, complaining that their neighbor's stereo is too loud. One goes to complain, only to see the door is ajar. She yells for the neighbor to turn that racket down, slightly pushing in the door. Then, she gasps when she sees the young hipster sprawled in a pool of his blood that is ruining his Paul Smith shirt.

They scouted my apartment in the West Village when I lived there back in the late 90's. The advance guy loved the place (they must have been going for a cinema verite feel, or maybe they needed a scene for a drug deal). He returned the next week with a team of about eight people, including the locations manager. The manager opened the door, looked in, and issued his verdict: "No." Of course, this was the pre-Gothamist days, when Law & Order was just a TV show.
