yes, it is true that a knife can be turned against you but it's also true that a knife or gun can protect you from a gruesome act. I'll stick with a knife. Working on getting a gun. You'll be psyched if I'm in the same car as you since no one will be getting hurt in that car.

I know what you're saying about the kids. Some punk ass kid spit a spitwad into the book I was reading last night (while I sat next to a mumbling, snot drooling looney.) Which is a far cry from getting slashed with a box cutter, but I should have known what I was in for when I stepped onto a half-empty E train at 6:05 (gee, why are there so many seats available?) The sane/insane ratio gets unbalanced on the afternoon trains while everyone's at work.

Jake... Totally agree with you! The only time I have been really nervous on the subway in NYC was at 2:15 p.m. when my mom & I caught the uptown train from wall st. I was terrified but had to remain totally cool and collected so my mom wouldn't worry. Yikes, those kids were completely (a) out of control and (b) depressing. The future does not look bright.
