The Fox cartoon, The Family Guy, which ran from 1999-2002, will be coming back. According to the Post, production on new episodes will start very soon. Fox is reviving the series because the DVDs have been selling extremely well. When the new shows will air or what channel (Fox, Cartoon Network, both?) they will air on is to be determined.
The Family Guy is shown on the Cartoon Network at 11PM and 2AM during Adult Swim. And Gothamist expects this move to make some people wish that DVD sales translated into other shows being resurrected; we definitely wish Twin Peaks was around during the age of the DVD. But if Twin Peaks were brought to networks today, it would have to go to HBO or Showtime.

this is some great news that has been around for a few months on tvshowsondvd.com. They spoke to the creator Seth MacFarlance back in December about it and it's pretty sad that either the Post is simply copying the interview without doing further research, or that no progress has been made since then. Lets hope it's just the post being lazy.

Peter: Now kids, Daddy only drank so the Statue of Liberty would take her clothes off.
I had heard rumors of it also, but I think the Post article is the first confirmation that it's a go. The quotes seems different from the tvondvds interview. It makes sense the Post might get an exclusive, since the Post and Fox are owned by News Corp.
i'm sorry, i thought i was the only one still mourning twin peaks. i'd also like a little 'my so called life' resurrection. that jordan catalano...
