the knicks trading away their draft picks is nothing major. it's not like they would have used them on anything good anyway.

As an Indiana Pacers fan, I have one thing to say about Isiah Thomas and the whole Knicks debacle: hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Good thing Clyde Frazier has those Just for Men commercials to fall back on.

Houston is overpaid and will never be a leader of the Knicks or any team for that matter.

As far as defense goes, it doesn't matter so much because the whole Eastern conference is the B-team.

Give it time, give it time. The Knicks have been playing half court sets all year. Steph is transition ball... of course it is going to look like a mess in the first two games.

The big problem we've been having is a) Houston has been shooting horrible and I think it is because of his knee and b) our defense is gone somehow. We really need to just focus on defense and the offense will heppen over ten games.

Love your site Jen!

best jason

What about the quiet talk about chuck daly? Or maybe they need to just get someone with a harder name to pronounce... I'd like to see the crowd try to chant something like "Fire Delininkaitis".

Not So Bold Prediction: Isiah will be coaching the team before the year is over.

PS - thanks for the shout out.

It's definitely too premature to doom the Marbury-era -- chemistry takes time. Two games is nothing -- it's not even the all-star break yet.

I do think simply acquiring Marbury doomed the Cheney era, however. I don't think anyone thinks Cheney is a good coach -- last year was enough evidence -- but they kept him on this year because they didn't have a better plan. Now they have the better plan -- Marbury -- and they'll need a real coach.

They may not fire Cheney midseason, as there are no real other viable coaches currently available (though I wouldn't rule out a return of (barf) Pat Riley). But I think the Knicks are planning to can him at the end of the year, and install a real coach (though I don't think Isiah himself qualifies as such).

If anything, I give Isiah props for getting rid of that sad sack of broken bones, Antonio McDyess.
