Condoleeza Rice: "Really Smart"

How to remember Condoleeza Rice's name from the Modern Humorist

When reading this Times article about the role of Condoleeza Rice in the Bush administration, this quote from the President about Rice stood out:

"I like lighthearted people, not people who take themselves so seriously." Besides, he said, "She's really smart!"

It is ever so reminiscent of the All The President's Mnemonics from the Modern Humorist whose book about George W. Bush, My First Presidentiary, might give more insight into how Bush works than we know. Plus it is hysterical. (Buy from Amazon.) No word on whether the President's ambitious plans to put a space station on the moon are motivated by his wondering if it is made out of cheese.

i fail to see how this quote makes bush look stupid. both of those seem like fine reasons to like condi. she is really smart. stating things simply doesn't make him a simpleton. and bush actually said he doesn't like people who take THEMSELVES seriously, which is a lot different that not taking THINGS seriously. not that i'm saying bush is great and all but honestly give the guy a break.

I agree with the last comment. I do not see anything wrong or stupid in what Bush said.
At least Bush means what he says, unlike other
politicians.

means what he says liiiiike "iraq has weapons of mass destruction and is an imminent danger" means what he says?

whateverz... he is a simpleton and you know it!! just like the time he said "this is a crusade" when we were bombing the hell out of Afganistan. i mean wth????? do you know what crusade means???

interesting ... I'm hoping this post turns into a nukUlar death match.

Personally, with the exception of one capital "U", I'm staying out of this one, but I'm hoping it gets ugly.

Don't forget Modern Humorist came up with L&O ice cream, "Cherry Orbach":

Bush never said Iraq was an imminent threat. You lefties keep throwing that one up, but he never said it. Maybe you're the ones with the mental defect?

What he DID say, in last year's State of the Union, is that we dare not wait until the threat from rogue states (i.e. Iraq) becomes imminent. His preemption doctrine states that we must attack rogues before they presents an imminent threat. As for the WMD charge, Clinton thought they were there, too. And they may have been - if Saddam destroyed them without proper documentation and oversight, he was still in violation of UN resolutions. And now Libya has fallen into line, so this approach is an OBVIOUS success at curtailing WMD proliferation, whether you like it or not.

You people are always dinging Bush on brains, but at least he's a realist, and not like you lefties clinging to your kumbaya fantasies.

My First Presidentiary co-author Kevin Guilfoile reminds me that the book also includes a bit about George W. wanting to spend the entire defense budget on a moonbase. Funny AND prescient!

As you can see from the image, it is TWO E'S AND TWO Z'S C-O-N-D-O-L-E-E-Z-Z-A. From Con Dolcezza - Italian for with sweetness, the c changed to another e. All journalists and bloggers should have learned this rule by now. Well call Dr Dean, "Dr Dean", when you call Bush: PRESIDENT Bush, and also say, without fail, Dr Wolfowitz and Dr Rice.

Dr. Rice, I wish you the best and hang in there.I know president Bush made the right decesion to attack Iraq because bin laden and sadam were friends and both of them had no love for America. God Bless, Dr. Edwards

Bruce,

Bush made sense when he said "crusade" when addressing the attacks in Afghanistan.

"Crusade" means the advance towards a particular means or end. Its meaning is not limited to the Holy War betwixt the Muslims and Christians.

Take caution to call someone an idiot!!
