An actual reason to lock up your wallet and purse when you leave your office desk, even for a second: A 19 year old girl walked into 1466 Broadway (between 41st and 42nd Streets), went to offices on the 10th floor (offices and showrooms for Jay-Z and Eminem's clothing lines), and proceeded to rummage through employees' clothing for wallets. When people at the office realized she didn't belong there, the girl tried to escape by elevator then stairs, but security managed to detained her. Then, while waiting for police to arrive, the girl escaped either by jumping or falling from a window, landing on scaffolding outside the second floor. She was arrested and charged with burglary at the hospital, where she is being treated for broken legs, a broken right arm, and left hand. As one of the office's employees said about the girl, "Everyone thought she was crazy."

I was wondering what that was. On my way home from work last night, I saw some paramedics scrambling up a ladder on the south side of 42nd Street. Bunch of people gawking, but no one knew what was going on, so I didn't stick around to watch.
Crazy? Or just plain old dumb.
A similar thing happened in my former office about a year ago when a person posing as a messenger was wandering through our offices. He was caught and taken away. Best to keep those wallets, purses, and ipods out of sight.
She's clearly crazy. Dumb would be getting married for 5 minutes to your high school friend. Or am I mixed up?
I walked by that, too. There was a pretty big mass of people standing around staring at a big hole in the scaffolding, but I didn't stick around long enough to find out what was going on, and then promptly forgot. The friend I was with commented that only in New York can you walk by something like that and then run home and watch the news to find out what happened.
She's gotta be crazy. Who would sneak out of a window, and make their way onto a ledge 8 stories above the ground?! Just go to jail...
Since Jay-Z's involved (well...his clothing line)
I'm guessing she's Crazy in Love.
