The First Babies of 2004

Emmanuelle Sim's and Tatiana Holman's fates are now joined: As the first New York City babies born in 2004, they are both visited by Mayor Bloomberg. The Mayor proclaimed, "This is the future of America. This is the future of New York City," as he held Emmanuelle; he also tried to visually convey the message by wearing his snazzy American flag sweater. Gothamist has always loved how babies look like blankets with little old man heads attached.
