What to Do on New Year's

The Post gives suggestions for what to do on New Year's if you're still looking for that better offer. They range from dinner at Town ($150 per person) to dancing at APT ($125). The most expensive is at Cafe Carlyle, with entertainment by Bobby Short, which might just be worth the $500 if you can spare it; the cheapest is going to Grand Army Plaza, where there are free fireworks and other Brooklyn revelers. Gothamist recommends having some fun with people you like for New Year's, and if that's staying at home with your cat, that's okay, too.

Cyndi Lauper will be ringing in the New Year at Times Square with the Mayor and thousands of other people. If you're interesting in braving the crowds of tourists and drunks there, here is more information from the Times Square Bid.
