Is Finding Nemo eligible for best picture? Isn't there an Oscar category for animated feature these days? Maybe animations aren't precluded from competing in the best picture category, but if that's the case, documentaries shouldn't logically be barred as well (foreign films are eligible since Crouching Tiger got a nomination if I recall correctly). Which means that Capturing the Friedmans should definitely be in consideration, as it's better than most of the fictional features this year.
