that tater tot dish scares the crap out of me...which is all the more reason to have a bake-off. we do need to have the mac and cheese bake off, as well, though not on the same day. jen & jake-- one of you should host this if you could! i'd volunteer to bring a couple of batches of Mom's Famous Cookies & Blondies for dessert.

tater tots are on top and then you mix a few into the burger/soup/veggie underneath to get the full effect. I told her about your site -- she agreed that tater tots are for the top.

Awesome. Totdish Smackdown. I will bring my custom-made Campbell's Soup holster (the two-can model) and a copy of "Hotdish to Die For", a collection of short mystery stories involving hotdish. (Only one of those items is made up...)

i was introduced to tater tot hot dish by a co-worker who grew up in Minnesota. I once helped her stuff and lick shut 150 envelopes for her class reunion in exchange for TTHD -- its that good! you guys will be so lucky to partake of it. I would also recommend pizza hot dish and ranch chicken hot dish.

oh snap! i want to get in on this. it'll be just like iron chef! my kitchen can hold about 10 people- feel free to hold this bakeoff here. Jen's kitchen is even bigger- you could get like 20 people in there.

great name! but who has a kitchen/place that is big enough!? another bake-off that we are supposed to have is Callalillie's Great Mac and Cheese Challenge. I made her recipe and it's delish. (don't laugh at the onion pic, it was painful) I also made chex mix recently and as a chex mix purist am sorry to inform you that there is no cheese in chex mix.

You should! "Tops Vs. Bottoms: The Hotdish Bakeoff" (I have a feeling Tatertots on top would be better, but what do I know, I look for the Chex with the most artificial cheese in the Chex Mix.)

i think jason & i need to have a bake-off in which he makes the hotdish with the tator tots on the bottom and i make it with them on the top.. and then we'll let the unbiased ny/nj tasters tell us which way is best!
