Sweet Bird of Fame

Tien Mao gives his thoughts on DOT signs

Tien Mao ponders his new found fame after seeing himself on Fox 5 News at 10: "My head is big, but not that big. My face is round, but not that round. My hair is long, yes, that long." Why was he interviewed? The power of blogs picking up his photo of someone's handiwork with a traffic sign.

Watch the video: You can hear Tien laugh as earnest reporter Lisa Evers describes the mystery traffic sign bandit's derring do. Gothamist guffawed, it's so funny, but we couldn't help but wonder if it was Penny Crone trying to investigate the matter.

actually, that was my mom laughing in the background. i am proud to report that my laugh isn't quite that girly. i think penny crone is now on cbs, so lisa who is the crime reporter (i think she said "crime and terror") got the story.

dude, your mom was there? you're so busted.

oh. the vid of of your tv at home. (i am very stooooopid today)

I'm still trying to figure out why Penny Crone has a job in Television news. God, that woman is some sort of devil spawn.

Penny Crone's move to CBS 2 marked the decline of CBS News (on a pretty bad skid) and a sad day in the history of FOX 5. She was Fox 5, with her braying and screeching.

what about the dude who was on fox 5 news (is he still there?), Eric Shawn. No joke the man's name is Eric Shawn, said two times fast, ERECTION. Die Newsbot!

and that morning guy on good day new york with the glasses, he moved to CBS's morning program as well. They are making some pretty stupid decisions over at CBS.

That morning guy on Good Day New York with glasses. Dave Price? He looks like Milhouse Van Houten.

"My head is big, but not that big. My face is round, but not that round. My hair is long, yes, that long."

Sounds like Margaret Cho's rap about her "All-American Girl" screen test.

Whatever, I saw sign a few weeks back. Makes me wish I had a camera phone...

maybe not quite as good but still funny--have you seen the dressed-with-stickers "don't walk" people on spring st? If not, promise I'll take a snap and send to gothmist tomorrow.
