Groundhog Day is one of the best Hollywood explorations of existential themes ever. Of course, they couldn't do without a happy ending, and they copped out when they didn't show Murray getting as sick of his "saved" life as he did of everything else, but otherwise it was perfect.

And what's with the "Buy Groundhog Day on DVD" link? Has Gothamist turned in to The Shopping Channel or are you just getting kickbacks from Amazon.com?

i swear her part in st. elmos' fire almost ruined the whole damn thing for me and i was only, like 12 or something. luckily it's a small role and i can overlook it.

I'm no fan of Andie MacDowell, but I think that's the genius of Bill Murray, making GH watchable IN SPITE of her (for me at least). I feel the same way about Four Weddings and a Funeral, it's a great film now, but would be a creme de la creme film if not for her.

However, she is good in Mother, where she plays an annoyed wife, because she does annoyed good.

does anybody else HATE this movie. i hate pretty much everything andi mcdowell is in - she ruins it by proximity - but this movie i found fairly annoying with very little to redeem it. am *I* a cultural fuckwit?

I've been writing mental mash notes to Bill Murray since I was nine. He's *always* been charming.
