Before anyone goes and tries to steal the sign, just remember that NYU has put up a dorm across the street and in the process littered the block with security cameras. I wouldn't be surpised if one of them has been refocused to include the new sign. And a question for anyone who might know: I beleive that NYU calls the building "the 2nd Street Dorm", does this mean that it's now "the Joey Ramone Place Dorm"? To think, I grew up counting crack viles on that corner when it was just Second and the Bowery...

Ah yes. Next time you're forced outside of CBGB in the cold rain just to smoke a cigarette, think about how much the Bowery will feel more like home when a "Joey Ramone Place" sign gives landlords yet another reason to jack up the rent.
