  • was he wearing surgical scrubs? that happened to my best friend a couple years ago, excpet the the train was really full and he was mashed up against her and she couldn't get away.

I could go into my story about the crazy ass guy who started to masturbate right next to me when I was the only person in the train car, but I won't for the sake of our dear readers' pure souls.

  • i've gotten my ass grabbed on the subway too. not by a bum though.. by some little g. not cool, dudes.

  • Last night on the subway a bum grabbed my ass, or should I say, an ass grabbed my bum.

I mean, I love this city and I love not owning a car and therfore, I love the subway, but come on! My ass is my ass. What makes it all the more, I don't know, ironic (in the alainis way), is that I was on my home from my weekly volunteer commitment at a homeless shelter (where I might add, no one has ever grabbed my bum!). Oh well, such is life in the big city.

Anyone ever been on the A train with the conductor that tells you how to make a Thanksgiving Turkey? I haven't heard him in a few years, but each day leding up to Thanksgiving he gives another piece of advice. I assume he would be doing it right about now. . .has he changed lines? Has anyone had the pleasure?

Also, my absolute favorite subway conductor moment happened a year or so ago when an F trin was turning into an E for some reason. The conductor was making all sorts of very clear, direct announcements and when we got to the next stop and he opened the doors he said "ok, now's the time for all you quick ones to help the slow ones." my borfriend and I shared a few looks with the other "quick ones" and informed everyone else who wanted to go to brooklyn that they should get off the train. it was priceless.

  • i once had a conductor who said houston the wrong way. everyone looked at each other and shook their heads.

  • this is why i hate the new trains that have the mechanical voice that says "stand clear of the closing doors please". the live conductors have so much more character whether it's a nice one like this one.. or one screaming for someone to stop holding the doors.. or one you completely cannot understand. i love them!

The morning commute just sucks, so I was grateful for this conductor. It's the little things.

Heard that over the summer - probably the same conductor. I had the same reaction.

  • Elisabeth

I love that conductor. He makes me smile whenever I get off to go to work.
