Just another day in Sacramento - except for the whole "Austro-Hyannis Port Powers Unite!" aspect with the swearing in of one of America's favorite semi-imconprehensible action stars who also grope women (yes, that's redundant). And the State of California has its website ready for the new Governor and the new First Lady. Start you emailing, like:

Dear Governor Schwarzenegger,
Please, no more "I'll be back." You used it up during your campaigning.

They gotta find the money that was raised by the car tax. Where's it gonna come from?

State debt - Triple BBB (lowest investment grade, one up from "speculative")

Most spending and tax issues already decided by screwball referendums of the past 25 years. Set up so that the spending will be greater than the revenue.

Very Democrat state legislature that gave Gray Davis fits.

Glamour-guy image is not going to get state workers to give up wages or bennnies.

Glamour-guy image probably will not get a state constitutional convention (which is what is really needed.)

Washington will not hand back California's share of the U.S. income tax, the extra it pays above what it gets in federal benefits. Whenever New Jersey asks (62 cents in benefits for every dollar paid), it gets a "no".

This was an interesting summer project for the Schwarzenegger-Shriver family, but now the serious work starts . . .
