they have sponsorships of giant panda research stations?!? hmm, i think gothamist needs to get in on that action. it might be too expensive here, but maybe in china? everything is cheaper there.

I love the baby panda. I really want to go to China and hang out with some panda cubs. My great uncle told me if I go to the Wolong Panda Reserve, I will be able to hold them, especially since they are so spoiled by researchers now, they will do various things for attention.

New theory: Pandas are actually a highly specialized parasite of human beings. They have evolved "cuteness" features to elicit a protective response in people. Our natural tendency to view any large, slow-moving animal as food is suppressed, and our nurturing instincts are subverted into caring for the pandas. We feed them, take care of them, and even have sex for them. It�d be enough to make me want to kill them all, if they weren�t so darned adorable.
