How to Move 24 Tigers Out of State

More about the transporation of NJ tigers to Texas. There were sharpshooters from the State Division of Fish and Wildlife in case any of the tigers would get unruly during a complicated loading process that involved tigers getting traquilized, being lured into a cage, pushed to a semi trailer on a dolly, and then eased into the semi-trailer. No surveillance tapes needed, though wacky owner Joan Byron-Marasek cried, "You're stealing my babies" before leavingthe scene.

The transportation costs, which are around $240,000, are shared by the state and an international fund, with additional private donations, including one from Princeton.

  • It was inappropriate for Joan Byron-Mirasek to keep all those "cats" on her property, when the state had already told her to clean up her act.

I am sure she would be welcome in Texas with her "babies". I am not certain why she insisted on thumbing her nose at the rest of New Jersey while she created a risk to the people of Jackson Township.

They could always feed Joan to her pets, and maybe that would change her perspective of things.
