The new trailer for Shrek 2 offers the delightful addition of Puss-in-Boots, voiced by Antonio Banderas (and we say delightful because we do like to see animals in clothes). In an interview with USA Today, Banderas describes how he shakes up things between Shrek and Donkey: "Shrek thinks he's cute. Donkey feels threatened. He doesn't want to be replaced by this idiot." Cute, idiotic, animal in (some) clothes - we love Puss-in-Boots.

What I love in the Shrek 2 trailer is how you see a kitty cat with huge eyes and then he leaps in the air into his boots and hat - ta da!
I am very easily amused.
I'll never quite get the concept of partially clothed cartoon animals. Why do some cover their upper body (donald duck and porky pig) and some their bottom only (mickey mouse...with white gloves even!)? What's there to hide?
yea it's strange why they don't put pants on them. maybe they're cold or something. but then they have fur and normal animals don't wear clothes anyway.
no wait... people put those weird sweaters and things on their dogs but never pants.
yes, the big kitty cat eyes is a nice touch, also the close up of head shot "I am puss" zoom out to reveal full body "in boots" makes me laugh.

I love the part in the movie where the little kittie has those big innocent eyes, im trying to fnd a pic of it, its so cute! lol
*shrugs* Well, humans like to dress animals up, like stuffed animals. Thinks it's 'cute'. So thusly, cartoon animals naturally wear clothes so as to appeal to all ages (usually of the female genre).
Why don't they wear pants? Try to draw a duck in pants. Yea, not easy, is it? Much easier to draw a towel on a duck then a pair of pants. It's also just overall easier to animate, I suppose, but I'm going with the ladder possible explanation.
Personally, I LOVE Puss in Boots. Words can not describe my love for Puss. *giggles* The eyes! And I do, creepily enough, have a thing for animated animals with sexeh voices...*grins* Heh. *coughs* Eheh. Then again, I'm fourteen with the mentality of a five year old, so no wonder I get crushes on animated animals...*glances around* Whhaaatt?!

no, Shrek 1's way better than Shrek2! if not for puss in boots, i would not have enjoyed the movie. guess the plot (newlyweds having a fight) was too serious unlike the first one which was about Shreka and donkey's funny quest for Fiona!
