Project Runway

Runway judge Heidi KlumOooh, Miramax and Bravo are going to Project Greenlight-ize America's Top Model by giving the world (or basic cable viewers) Runway, a new model compeititon, with Heidi Klum judging. Bravo thinks it will be a great companion piece to Queer Eye for the Straight Guy; yes, because there's nothing that gay men like more than pretty vacant models to escort around. And Variety reports Miramax head Harvey Weinstein saying Runday "help find and identify the same untapped talent in the fashion world that 'Project Greenlight' has found in film." Untapped talent? The NY Times' Elvis Mitchell reviewed both Project Greenlight films: Stolen Summer was "Well-meaning but inert" and "The drab comic melodrama The Battle of Shaker Heights may lead to a new axiom: success has many fathers, but failure has Project Greenlight." Note to aspiring models: This is your chance to choose.

Note: It's a blog "Jinx!" moment as Gawker writes about Runway as well.

sorry to burst your sarcastic bubble here but Project Runway is not a model search but a designer competition ... I just thought I would let you know before you went any further. There is actually a difference between a designer and a model.

Hello I am a fashion designer interested in the competition. I am from Chicago. I saw you advertisement on the bravo channel 44. Please send more information on this project.

I went today, they seemed to only want kids still in or just right out of college.

Age discrimination??????

I am a 24 yr old childrens wear designer from Southern California. I own a company called GiggleBugg Designs. We are a start up company that is growing rapidly. I am also a single mother of two young boys. I want to know how to apply for the show?

I am a 26 year old from Nebraska who designs from my home. I would like to know how to apply for show/

If anyone has been to one of the open call/interview will they please tell me what it was like...
I am supposed to go on Friday to Miami - but now after reading Bill's comment I am worried that I have been out of college too many years...?

I went to the audition and got to the next round, and I am very experienced..but the judges seemed taken back by that, not sure what they are looking for, most likely personality not talent I am afraid..worth giving it a try.Good Luck

Greetings to you,

I just heard about project runway. I'm a Fashion Designer, and would like the information needed to be a part of project runway.

i am just graduated high school and going to FIDM in a year, i am interested in the competition, but have absolutely no experience, just good ideas and designs. is that enough? how do we talk to the judges or those who scheduale thses appointments?

I fresh out of design school, what qualifications are they looking for?

to my knowledge they have selected ~50 semi-finalists that will be narrowed down to ten for the show. unfortunately, i do not think they are still looking. for more information check out www.bravotv.com/project_runway.

I was at the open call in NY june 21 and i did not get in becuase i did not know how to stitch.I thought i was auditioning as a designer not a tailor? But there was a 16-17 year old girl ahead of me who was HOT, had a great personality and quite a good portfolio from what i saw but she was turned away cause she said she was in design school for only one year and they were not taking first year students, what ever that meant. The only people that i know they did send to teh next level was a couple of designers (Boy and a Girl 16-17) who had some stringy desses to show and another girl who seemed to be older liek in here 20's and she had a very profressional portfolio and a few pieces that were in bags so i could not see but i know they made it to teh next level cause when they came out the camera crew was interviewing them on teh street.
They (Bravo TV) never posted any official rules cause from what i could tell they made them up as they were told. I got the feeling that besides the judges there were other people involved who were pre screening the contestants before tehy made it to the judges. cause you could tell that the camers crew was pre interviewing some people and not everyone and the guy that did a mini interview was void of emotions when asking questions as if the questions were being told to him.
But all that matters is that i did not get in and i look at it as their loss more then mine. Everything happens for a reason if anyone of you did not make it this time there might be another!
So,BEST OF LUCK :)

I would love to be on the show. I am the inspiration for the song Stairway to Heaven and I design paper fish hats. I sometimes use plastic when I can afford to buy grocercies and get plastic bags. I have designed many exquisite fish hats for my beautiful daughter Hannah. The paper fish hats really accentuate her pointy little witches chin. I also have designed fish hats for the members of many rock bands. Please contact me for this show before the cyber stalking terrorist escargot Janet Eccelstein and company steal my ideas. Didn't Ms. Van Zant deny that I was the inspiration for another song, and the love of a certain Mr. Van Zants life. Now the escargot cyber terrorists who have put tracking implants in my ear will want to steal my exquisite paper fish hat designs and steal the food from my daughter Hannah and my son Adam's mouths.
Please contact me immediately.
I remain, at least till the cyber terroists track me down, Georgia Lynn Mobley Redraven Morgwneth Standish Jones

Need help. I Must get job as designer. Georgia Lynn, yours truly had to change her name since my last post as you can see. Evil escargot internet cyber terrorists are close on my heels and the heels of my innocent children. My beautiful 22 year old Hannah Lynn Bartles Meeker Mogley Brown Dinsmore Jones and my sweet innocent young son Adam Thomas Percy Harold Ronald Weasley Mogley Wigglesworth Jones are in great peril. I put my sweet innocent babies at your mercy. Send money soon. Save us from the ear implanting, enslaving, corporate piggy, cyber terrorists.
