I love spicy tuna and soft-shell crab rolls as much as the next guy, but there is no one in Japan who would classify that as "sushi." On the other hand, the Japanese routinely mangle Western foods too- just look around for the "mentaiko pasta" which is pasta made with fish eggs and seaweed (it's an acquired taste.) I think you can have that one at Basta Pasta on West 17th.

An added bonus of going to Yasuda is to sit next to these people: These People: I would like a Spicy Tuna roll. Disgusted Waiter: We only have traditional sushi. TP: I'm sorry, I will have a Philadelphia roll then. DW: Die. TP: Oh, okay a California roll then. DW: Die.

is it just me, or does it seem like SLNY is written in some kind of code, or in a foreign language? the first time i got it, i was like "what the hell is this?"
