I don't know what's more stupefying--that a guy would actually have the gumption to solicit unknown women to come strip naked and pose in public for his self-aggrandizement, or that 450 women would actually answer the call. Don't fool yourselves, ladies, this is little more than highbrow "Girls Gone Wild." A sucker born every minute, indeed.

I'd like to see them come out to Bridgewater Commons Mall and try to pull a stunt like that. (And let me know when.) Three AM sounds like the kind of hour you'd be more expecting those masked-face people from Beneath the Planet of the Apes come out and stand on that balcony there. oh holy bomb!

As a non-art-expert, I find his work extremely accessible -- it raises all sorts of currently important ideas -- just off the top of my own head, I see: public vs private behavior; the politicization of the body; human vulnerablity in an age of terrorism; etc. Then there's the tradition of the nude in art which goes back thousands of years. Also, I find his compositions really beautiful and moving. Which is why I felt comfortable and enthusiastic about joining one of my friends (a previous Spencer Tunick model) for this one. It's not just a stunt, though the media does tend to cover it that way. I had a great time, and an unforgettable and personally rewarding experience. But oh my yes I was shivering!
