House of Guano

This lawsuit filed by the owner of a house in Hudson River community, Garrison, against the previous owners and real estate agent who handled the transaction, is amusing, and not just because it's so conveniently near Halloween: The house is infested with bats - 150 of them. Current owner Steve Jablonski now lives with the bats who spend "the days hanging from the rafters, holding bat love-ins on the beams and nursing their offspring." Jablonski claims that when he looked at the house, he was told bat droppings were actually from birds. The real estate agent's lawyer is dismissive of Jablonski's case, "The law says you should be more discerning. He saw poop and did nothing. He took a salesperson's word."
