No More No Carb on E. 55th Street

Atkins Center; Photo - NY PostShrine to the no-carb movement, the Atkins Center for Complementary Medicine is shutting down. The center operated as the late Dr. Robert C. Atkins' medical practice, and therefore must be "sold or closed six months after his death." The center gave a list of doctors that practice similar techniques (Atkins treated people with diabetes and, oddly enough, cardiovascular problems as well), and the Post reports that the center's acting director, Keith Berkowitz, would open up his own practice with the Atkins' philosophy, prompted by the "hundreds of calls from Atkins' patients wanting to continue their treatment."
