My wife ran into Mr. O a few years ago in an elevator and the story goes that she thought she thought he was an old friend, but couldn't place him. He smiled at her and then got off the elevator. It was only then that she realized that she had just inhabited the same space as the inimitable and great Mr. O.

I still can't believe Jerry is leaving the show! I saw a bio on him a couple of years back, when both him and one of his sons said the only Jerry would "quit" Law & Order was when he died.
