This whole "Pedro wanted to stay in" thing reminds me of Jim Palmer and his nemesis, Earl Weaver. Earl went to the mound to take Palmer out, and Palmer said something like, "Forget it, Earl. I'm not tired. I'm staying in." Earl said, "Well, then, you're going to look pretty silly standing here while someone else is pitching." By the way, Jen, Jim Palmer did some pretty hot underwear ads (actually, pretty embarrassing is more like it). OK, who's up for a Red Sox-Cubs consolation World Series? Somehow, I'm sure they would both lose.

Heh, if only you knew my categorization of the "cute" Yankees. I'll also add that on United's in-flight programming just now, they showed a Last Call with Carson Daly (boo!) with a very smoking Angelina Jolie.

Grady's job as manager is to make the decisions that will lead his team to victory. Not to go out to the mound and ask his superstar pitcher how much he has left in the tank. Do you actually think Pedro would say "I'm tired, put in someone from the bullpen." Hellz No. Grady should have taken the ball from him and told him he'd be pitching again in 4 days. Idiot. Somewhere Bill Buckner is smiling. And Jen, that Aaron Boone comment is just the final nail in the coffin. Argh!

my dad was raised in the bronx, so i always assumed he was a yankees fan. the other day, we were in the car, and i said "hey, pops- i hear the yanks are doing pretty well this season- you think they'll make it to the world series?" he responded: "who the fuck cares- rooting for the yankees these days is like rooting for donald trump- it makes me sick." so that was that.
