Farewell, Alexandra Cabot

2003_10_stephmarch.jpgOh, Stephanie March, what a way to leave Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. At first, we didn't know how to feel about you, what with your icy demeanor and blond blond hair. Then you grew on us, when you tried to stand up to your boss, played by Judith Light a.k.a. Angela Bower. Or when you were frustrated at the self-righteous even for Law & Order acts of Detectives Stabler and Benson. Maybe we started to like you when we had a new icy blonde, one who annoys us to no end, ADA Serena Southerlyn. But then you asked the Don...we mean, Dick Wolf to leave the show, maybe to frolic with boyfriend, Bobby Flay. And you got bangs this season, which should have been another sign of your impending departure. But the writers and producers didn't kill you for your bangs and put you into the beyond as they had with Jill Henessy's ADA Claire Kincaid, but into witness protection, ready to appear as a defense attorney in a future sweeps episode. Till we see you again, Alex..tonight, in syndication on USA.

  • Rixs

I lloved Stephanie March, I hope she returns soon. I miss her a lot. If any of you know how to get in contact with stephanie pls. let me know.

    =-( =-( =-(

  • vickie

I think they should have kept angie harmon on l&o don't yall

  • Derek

Does anyone know why Stephanie March is quitting SVU?

  • Em

Is Stephanie March a regular on Boy Meets Grill?

  • C

I am so right there with the Serena-hate. They got rid of Angie Harmon for her?!? Her ice-princessness is merely her awkward and wooden delivery of lines she barely memorized! And what is the deal with dressing her more and more like a lawyer on Ally McBeal? Sure, they've always made sure the female ADA's look good, but I've never seen them put cleavage out on display before.

Oddly enough, the ADA that generated the most angst amongst L&O fans was Elizabeth Rohm from the regular L&O. An online petition was created here:

    http://www.petitiononline.com/dg455/petition.html

If you actually read the entries, some suggested that she be replaced with Stephanie March. Wierd.

In my opinion, I feel that both Rohm and March suffer from the same ailment: they either speak like zombies, or they start shouting and screaming . Hopefully the new ADA replacing March, Diane Neal, will find a setting somewhere between 0 and 10.

And I still can't get over how Ice T., a self described pimp, player, drug dealer, is playing a cop on TV....I LOVE IT!!!!! My favorite line of his has to be "You know I want to smack you, right?" PRICELESS!

  • Mara

Josh Hopkins was DEA Agent Donavan. He was Ray on "Ally McBeal" and Matt Prophett on "Jack & Jill".

  • Elizabeth

not the bald DEA guy, the dead one.

  • Liz

I'm sorry but Jill Hennessy will always win hands down. The episode "Aftermath", where we find out just a little of who she was outside of work, only to lose her...has a special place in my videotape library.

  • Mara

Elizabeth - The DEA guy was Mitch Pileggi from "The X Files" or "Tarzan".

I was sorry to see Stephanie March leave - wrong blonde out the door.

  • Elizabeth

Who was the actor who guest starred last night as the DEA agent who got car bombed? I recognize him from somewhere...

    From Newsday

    http://www.newsday.com/mynews/ny-nylaw153495911oct15,0,626434.story

An episode of "Law & Order" - a murder story entitled "Compassion" - is scheduled to be filmed on Argyle Road between Albemarle and Beverley roads between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting confirmed yesterday. A representative for the NBC television series said filming was planned long before the shooting of Mark Fisher.

  • I'm such a junkie.

Every time I hear the trailer for the new Forest Gump-looking Cuba Gooding movie "Radio", I recognize Lt. Van Buren's voice at the beginning. I have no interest in this movie, but I sure do like the sound of her voice. My husband was a little concerned that I recognized it so quickly and without actually seeing her face.

    Please, someone stage an intervention.

  • I'm a big Alexandra Cabot fan, but her bangs scared me so much I've left the last few episodes of SVU on the TiVo unwatched. I'll have to have a cocktail tonight and try to catch up. As for Olivet, I'm pretty sure I've brought her up in just about every one of my comments in every L&O post on Gothamist so I won't even go there!

  • rotten peaches

Is this the same functionally inept but highly opinionated Texas blonde who looks on in a dismissive way while Flay cooks 'cue on 'Boy Meets Grill?'

  • not that hot in person? that's a shame. she was also in head of state in a role that was so different from her L&O role.

jamie is maybe the 3rd hottest ADA in my book. angie/abbie, stephanie/alexandra, then a tossup between carrie/jamie and jill/claire with elisabeth/serena far far behind.

and yes, olivet does often fly under the radar.

  • I will stop posting like a complete nutjob in a second, I promise....but this site has all of L&O's 'repeat offenders' -- i.e. the murderer who shows up as a beat cop in the next episode:

  • No one has even mentioned Dr. Elizabeth Olivet...I always thought she was underappreciated.

  • Jonas Cord

    Tien has it absolutely right.

  • I saw her at the Met in January - walked right by her without recognition until I overheard her voice. She's a lot better looking on TV - not that hot in person.

  • Jen

rion, it's just a part of our lives now. There is no way to avoid L&O.

I like Jamie the best too, but in terms of hotness, I think tien is right, Angie, which her husky/10 packs a day voice, was the hottest ADA.

  • SACRILEGE! Jamie was OBVIOUSLY the hottest. But this one almost made Judith Light bearable...please, please, Dick Wolf -- no more shiksas, you self-hating weirdo.

  • i'm sorry... i've been in the closet for too long. i have to speak out! I have to be me! I don't get this whole law and order thing!

  • sniffle...not that i rank ADA's, but she might be the 2nd hottest one on the L&O shows after Angie Harmon of course.
