I just think it's ridiculous that the NY papers are trying to fry Pedro for throwing at someone(which he obviously did) when Clemens does it regularly. Mike Piazza for instance...
I thought the rainout would cool everything out but it seems it just gave the papers one more day to talk about it...

When Jen+Ben realized the cameras were on the, Jen leaned over and gave Ben a kiss. He seemed bored, at best, and waved the camera away.

This whole deal is fascinating to an out-of-stater with no vested interest in either of these teams. I have never seen such a ridiculous display of provincial tribalism (And I am from Wisconsin!). The best part is, that with all of the players/coaches who have played for either team at one point (Zimmer & Clemens) the entire thing is almost comically incestuous;like a deadly love triangle with two brothers fighting over who gets to sleep with the sister.

In lieu of the direction this series is taking, my suggestion is that the commissioner invoke the little known MLB Medieval rules. In Medieval rules the winners team gets to loot the homes of the losers as well as have their way with their wives and girlfriends.

well, there is history for zimm. he was hit in the head when he was a player (twice i believe) and was hospitalized because of it. he even has a steel plate in his head. that said, it was still wrong of him.

some news source said that the boston police was going to issue summonses to jeff nelson and karim garcia for the fight in the bullpen.

and is it me, or does ben look very boston in that photo.

I thought Pedro did a pretty good job handling the situation. Whether it's a young ballplayer or an old fart, he's got to protect himself. He didn't take a swing or drop a shoulder...he kept Zimmer at arm's length and made sure the old man didn't hurt him. If it was anybody BUT Zimmer I think Pedro would have handled the situation differently (more violently). Zimmer screwed up by rushing him in the first place. What a fool. Being of old age shoudln't get him off the hook.

P.S. Nice Finger Eleven ads.
