To my mind, that clip gives you a better view than the TV replays of how far Don Zimmer actually rolled. Pedro had to have grabbed him by the head and thrown him pretty hard.

Paul that is a great clip - Zimmer was nuts to have gone after Pedro; was it the metal plate? Sadly, Pedro is dumber to have pushed him to the ground; no one likes seeing old people hurt, even mean old people. Except for the ones who try to hurt your first at Fairway.

Frankenstein, that video is great. The quality isn't so hot, but it gives you a great idea of what it must have been like to see the whole thing unfold from a seat in Fenway. Right after Pedro throws Zimmer to the ground, you can hear a voice in the background say, "Did you see Zimmer?" Later I think he says, "He's hurt. Zimmer's hurt."

Eh, you're right, instead of meeting the wild eyed, foaming at the mouth old codger by throwing him to the ground, the guy should have tucked tail run away. That way, the headlines could instead read, "Boston Coward Runs From Baseball Legend." And yes, the news headlines get that absurd. Bottom line, no matter what age you are, you charge at someone violently, they have have license to dispatch your ass to the pavement. Because the guy is 72 doesn't give him a free pass to whup ass of complete strangers and not receive repurcussions. Heck, even the old guy himself said afterwards that he felt embarrassed and ashamed. He should be ashamed. Lord help me, if I live to 72, that I don't make a complete ass of myself like that. Jeez, go out with a little dignity...

HAHAHA, do you really consider what he did 'just pushing the old guy out of the way'??? While it was stupid for Zimmer to charge the plate like that, a guy 40 years younger GRABBED HIM by the sides of his head and THREW him to the ground. Both are at fault but let's be serious here. Good lord.

how unfair and funny. the 72 year old guy charges at the younger dude foaming at the mouth, the younger dude doesn't hit, just pushes him out of the way, and suddenly the younger dude is the villain. the old prick should act his age before he breaks a hip. the funny thing is, if the younger dude had just stood there and let the old guy knock him around, all the headlines would be, "old guy still has the stuff to kick young guys ass! young dude bitch slapped by his elder!" funny. btw, I don't know or care to know anything about baseball or these two teams, it's just been an unavoidable story over the last two days. baseball is boring.

Pedro and Manny both lived up to their reps. One is a chickenshit picther who manages to miss the plate by three feet -- just once! -- every time he faces the Yankees. The other is a blockhead who approaches the mound with a bat on a pitch over the plate. For a team that could have gained fan support with a lovable-loser image, they're just acting like losers.

Ummm...how is it that Pedro doesn't always deliver in big playoff games? He was undefeated until last night. Last time he faced Clemens in the playoffs the Sox won 13-1. PS - Zimmer is the punk here, not Pedro.
