Your New Cash Money

Twenty dollar redesign

If you were all set to flash the new peach-imbued twenty dollar bill, be warned that many NY shop owners are dubious of it and don't believe it's real. Riaz Mohammed, the manager of Gramercy Park Photo on Park Avenue South, tells the Post, "There's no way I would accept this. Have you got anything else?" but the Federal Reserve feels everyone will be used the newer and uglier bills in a few weeks.

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing invite you to learn more about the new twenty dollar bill - now more secure than ever.

the asthetic appeal of the new bills is debatable, but the color coding of different denominations is a definate improvement. standing at a cash register rifling through a wad of 1's for that one 20 you know you have in there is a pain in the ass.

Can't they get someone with a modicum of aesthetic sense to design US money?

Jeanne Moos did a piece on CNN about the new $20 the other day...she tried to spend it all over town and got a perfect triple-take from a hot dog vendor.

they're way better looking than the old money, but they are still ugly. here's the new campaign in action on 42nd st.

Just say NO to creepy colored money!

It's cool that my first sighting of the new bill is online. It's still amazing to me that we use paper money and write checks for thousands of dollars with a pen.

And, yeah, for those of you who think they can do better, visit the Fed's design your own bill center!
