Law & Order, Addictive and Ripped from the Headlines

2003_9_locs.jpgThe Observer's The Transom visits the launch party at Elaine's for the new Law & Order: Crime Scenes coffee table book. Dick Wolf tells the Observer the show, and its many spin-offs, are "like visual nicotine. Some people get addicted." Yes, Gothamist will need to undergo a serious rehabilitation program if L&O addicition is ever classified as a mental disorder by the experts.

The DogAnd tonight's Law & Order mixes two Gothamist subjects, Jayson Blair and bounty hunter Duane "The Dog" Chapman:

A BOUNTY HUNTER PAYS THE ULTIMATE PRICE FOR HIS QUEST TO FIND A FUGITIVE - When the notorious bounty hunter "Bobcat" Rovelli - who is currently searching for fugitive rapist and bookstore heir Mitchell Maas -- is found dead in a seedy motel room, Detectives Briscoe and Green attempt to piece together the events leading to his death. Uncovering the victim's recent contact with an up-and-coming African American journalist, who recently interviewed Maas, prompts detectives to investigate the reporter hoping to track down the fugitive.
