I cannot tell you how many coworkers of mine have refused outright to move to Park Slope because of how baby-fied it's become. Personally, I don't mind it a bit -- better cutesy young couples with small children than disgruntled art school grads with tiny dogs and hipper-than-thou attitudes.

Try going to the Union Street Tea Lounge on Fridays. There is a literal parking lot of Maclaran strollers parked diagonally across the store. There are more bare breasts and suckled nipples than an amateur porno.

Fifth Ave is getting more and more yuppy. Fourth Ave is too industrial to have much of a feel. Prospect Heights is really where it's at.

The way he described it, the place was full of 'em, but I've only been in the evenings, so I'll take your word for it. From what I've seen, you're right, though. Fourth Ave. doesn't seem quite so gentrified at all, and Fifth Ave. seems to be going for a younger, hipper crowd. I'm on Seventh, and it's Baby Central up there.

Ozzies...Maybe a stroller here or there, but mostly hipsters staring into their PowerBooks. Anyway, you go into a coffee shop anywhere on the planet and you're going to get the occasional stroller-pushing coffee-mom.

Really? An acquaintance told me that if you're in the 5th Ave. Ozzie's in mid-afternoon, the sofas are full of strollers and breast-feeding mommies.
