Failed Relationship Stories Spilled Tomorrow Night

Dictionary of Failed RelationshipsIf it's Wednesday, it must mean that Gothamist needs a reminder about the Dictionary of Failed Relationships. There is a reading tomorrow night, at the Soft Skull Bookstore in Brooklyn. However, it's during the Gothamist-601am Happy Hour, where, if our projections are correct, nonsensical failed relationship stories will be told as freely as the $2 Pabsts will be opened. So, with much regret, we'll missing this one as we missed the first one.

There is still time, though not much, to enter the Dictionary of Failed Relationships' contest, which has some goodies from Kiehl's as a prize. Luckily it's not limited to romantic relationships, as Gothamist has much more experience with failed non-relationships count (you know, when you obsess and obsess and obsess over a person, only to realize the person now has a significant other, besides not knowing you exist) as well as failed friendship-relationships. But we have some interesting breakup stories...

You should add Mer B. as your friendster Gothamist - I've definitely seen her as a friend of a friendster, with the first name Mer.

Then she can ditch her own reading and come to your party!

  • Soft Skull is right below my apartment, so you can stop by every Sunday after their Frequency readings at 2pm (starting this weekend). They have a ton of great readings, a bunch of great authors and host fun events throughout the city. Yay for good neighbors.

I have to say, Meredith Broussard of the Dictionary of Failed Relationships is one smart lady. There is no way I CANNOT write about the DFR, as thinking about relationships (and not just mine) are maybe my seventh hobby, behind movies, food, Law & Order, blogging, clothes, and instant messaging.
