i suppose construction on the 2nd avenue line (scheduled for the end of 2004) is going to mess things up again... but then again, with all the weekend/late night service changes lately, it'll be hardly noticeable.

Wha? The N will still stop at Canal Street, just like it does now, only it'll be at the bridge (current Q/W) platform. That's more or less in Chinatown, and as much in Chinatown as the current Canal Street stop. The skipped N stops will be between City Hall and DeKalb Avenue.
