G.I. Joe the Movie

I think a concept such as GI Joe may be incapable of being done the way everyone knows it should be.

It should be a 666 movie compendium of 666 'Apocalypse Now meets Platoon meets Full Metal Jacket meets Happy Days' type movies.

All Characters from the comics and cartoons should be included. Many of these charcaters deserve a movie on their backoround alone. Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, Duke, CobraCommander, Destro, Flint, Lady Jaye, Gen. Hawk, Falcon, Tomax/Xamot, Baroness, Shipwreck, Roadblock, and Gung Ho to name a few who could fill a movie alone.

Imagine 400+ full length live action movies on each character alone. Then imagine 250+ movies on the relationships and battles of GI Joe and

Cobra. Finally, imagine the 666th movie-the finale. Who in the hell loses? Who rises as the winner of this awesome story?

No Lucy Lui, chinese. Need japenese American actors or the guy from 'Brother' and 'Battle Royale'. Hes old, but so is Stormshadow. Vietnam, early fifties.

Scarlett, not Jenniffer Garner. Shes just a sex symbol, not actually good. Eclectra speaks for itself. Maybe Urma Thurman, who is great at being a kick ass fighter. Dyes hair, of course.

Snake-eyes some unknown person, especially good at martial arts. Hope this movie is for real, i was worried Valor vs Venom. Was the movie they promised, because its not avaiable in Australia, unless have credit card. Or is it the movie with good actors voices?

i think it should be mostly newbies maybe one or two kinda seasoned actors. here is the list as it stands for me as of now. (mostly same as my one above.)

DUKE - Jason Lewis(though i have never seen him act by just looking at him i can see DUKE. square jaw, blue eyes, blonde hair.)

FLINT - Thomas Gibson(i recently watched an episode of dharma and greg where greg aka Gibson was in the reserves and all dressed up in uniform. made me think FLINT)

ROCK N' ROLL - Thomas Jane(i saw this picture from a movie premier and immediately though ROCK N' ROLL the beard makes it)

SCARLETT - Jennifer Garner(come on there is no other choice here. she is hot, at times has red hair, and knows martial arts. who else could be better for SCARLETT)

SNAKE EYES - Ray Park(i'm only goin with him cause the whole darth maul thing where he didn't talk and that he knows martial arts. just hope they would keep a mask on at all times)

STALKER - Eamonn Walker(in tears of the sun he just reminded me of what STALKER should be like. pluse he has a pretty good look for him. carl weathers is too old)

BEACH HEAD - Nick Chinlund(a pretty good actor he can do a good military part-as shown in tears of the sun-plus his overall look and voice is what i would picture for BEACH HEAD)

TUNNEL RAT - Paul Francis(i was either going with him or John Lequizamo-spelling?-but john is more comedian that serious war type.although not bad in Executive Decision. But based on looks and a role in a military movie i'm goin with Paul)

FALCON - Casper Van Dein(i saw this on another site and thought it fit pretty well. plus Casper has potential to be a good actor...he just needs a good jumpstart)

HAWK - Kurt Russel(for HAWK you needed someone older than the rest but not too old, so i went with Kurt. i thought his role and overall look in Soldier would be pretty good for HAWK-a lil old but can still kick a$$)

CLUTCH - Hugh Jackman(i got the battlefiles for devils due and saw CLUTCH. with Jackman's mutton chops from wolverine in xmen i think it fits CLUTCH to a T. although not likely cause he thinks he is somebody now)

WETSUIT - Balthazar Getty(i think this guy is a promising actor. plus he as the same beedy eyes as WETSUIT does in the battlefiles. overall i would say a close match)

ACE - Michael Trucco(ok he's already played a pilot before so there is a plus. he is also a pretty close look for ACE. i think it would work nicely)

COBRA COMMANDER - Willem Dafoe(the man just looks evil. plus from spiderman he has no problems coverin his face-just maybe showin it now and again. i think he is the only choice for CC)

DESTRO - Vin Deisel(big, bald, has the voice...come on this is a no brainer...except for his ego bein too big. and his paychecks..we can wish though)

BARONESS - Famke Janssen(i did have Monica Belluci but she kinda looks old from time to time so i figured Famke would do nicely..she got the looks and is more around the age of everyone else)

ZARTAN - Karl Urban(seein him in Chronicles of Riddick kinda made me think ZARTAN. he also kinda has a dark look too him. especially in the pic.

STORM SHADOW - Donnie Yen(i never though jet li would be a good ninja to me he can only do chinese. Yen on the other hand has a good japanese appearance-although he isn't-plus he's a badass with a sword ie. Highlander:Endgame, Blade 2)

you guys are all morons. Some of the actors you've mentioned are far too old. Plus others are definitly out of place: Charlie Sheen? Ben Affleck? Dude come on. These actors belong inan infomercial. Let's get hungry nobodies and make them earn their pay. Except Vin Deisel, who IS Destro. Excellent suggestion and I hope it come true.

i think they should put jim carrey to play cobra commander since he can shriek the voice and may be they should consider some one like stallone to play flint or someone like charlie sheen to play duke and they could put richard o brien for destro and sean connery for rock and roll or snow job since sean has a beard.

I've always thought that Mariska Hargitay from Law & Order: SVU would do the trick as Lady Jaye.

She's got the short hair and the tomboyish good looks to make it happen.

This is so cool. i've been getting back into Joe & was recently coming up with a movie cast wishlist. Absolutely eerie how many i made that others came up with the same exact cast.

Other Suggestions

Duke-Thomas Jane (see 'The Last Time i Committed Suicide-this boy can act!!)

Zartan-Vin Diesel (thought he'd be a better Zartan than Destro)

Clutch-Adam Goldberg (although i love the suggestion of Jason Lee)

Snake Eyes-This is the key character to the whole movie. He's what Wolverine was to the X-men, the dark dangerous edgy character everyone loves. Snake Eyes is an immensely complex character, way beyond the other 2-d characters. He's a little crazy. Mysterious. and to play it. Brad Pitt. Think about it. 12 Monkeys. FIght Club. Seven

Cobra Commander-Gary Oldman (not some young idiot. He's a terrorist who is running an evil empire!)or Viggo (see 'Prophecy' he's frickin scary)

Baroness-Monica Belucci (if she can pull off the accent. 10 times better than Zeta. See "Brotherhood of the Wolf"

Destro-Clancy Brown? 'Worf' (forgive me can't remember his name) not Vin though.

I hope they don't have the CORBA-LA and Serpentor in it because I didn't like that from the cartoon. I see the movie as a trilogy do to the fact that G.I. Joe is so a complexed story with a lot of charcters. I would say they should use no-names because if they took the people u say they would cost them a lot. Anyway no-names then can become somebodies.

geeze guys u know that there is no way all those stars will be in a gi joe movie. Count on 1-3 semi stars and the rest no names. Does not really matter though, great movies come from no-names.....before lord of the rings everyone was like "Viggo who?" "what is a Viggo?"

Snake Eyes = Ray Park. His performance as Darth Maul from "Star Wars: Episode 1" was all the convincing I needed. Hope they go with the comic book relationships as well; Scarlett was what made Snake Eyes more human and less super-hero.

Paul Walker could be Snake Eyes, Snake Eyes doesnt even talk, and he could be used in that way, plus in the comics, Snake Eyes has blonde hair.

I agree with Lawdogg. Paul Walker is not old enough to pose as the character role of Duke. Duke served during the southeastern skirmish(vietnam?) and Walker is way to young to play someone who is a master seargent. Ideally I could imagine a casting that consist of this:

Sgt.Duke (Ed Harris - he has the perfect haircut and square jaw as in Apollo 13). Roadblock (Micheal Clark Duncan as a perfect fit). Sgt Stalker (Carl Weathers...see Predator - who else?) I can pretty much "get with" all of those suggestions, but Paul Walker as Duke? No way! I think Paul Walker's a good actor and all, but Duke definitely needs to be someone more 'mature'; if Howie Long could actually act, he'd be perfect; other that him, I could easily see Viggo Mortenson as Duke (see him in 'G.I. Jane'). Besides, Duke was a senior NCO, and Paul Walker is MUCH too young for that. What about Kurt Russell as Hawk, Jet Li as Storm Shadow, Jason Lee as Clutch, Micheal Clarke Duncan as Roadblock, and Colin Farrell as Flint? Catherine Zeta-Jones as the Baroness has me drooling, though :)

This is just wonderful. See, it's not enough that we have DubyaDolls in flight suits; and recruiters giving away keychains and toys in 8th grade; and war toys and war history DVDs at the front of Wal-Mart; and kids wearing camo army belts because they're the "thing;" (from the mouth of a sixteen-year-old, thank you) and old generals all over TV... ad infinitum ad bellum. More importantly, who will play Golobulus, the leader of the Himalayan-bound Cobra predecessor, Cobra-La? Burgess Meredith was splendiferous as his voice; I can't imagine another voice, especially if it didn't include Meredith's succotash S's.

Will Ferrell as Bazooka. According to Joeheadquarters.com, "Bazooka is the missle [sic] specialist who is known for chewing gum and being a little slow." A casting rife with comic potential.
