Big Murakami Balls

As a late little birthday shout-out to Anil , here's a picture of Takashi Murakami's big black balloons - "balls" - at Rockefeller Center. Kind reader Bruce sent us this picture but we'll try to get a more "revealing" picture of the balloons in front of the GE Building later AND just sent us this other picture (left, click to enlarge - hee hee) as well! Happy Belated Birthday, Anil.

Gothamist went to see Mr. Pointy the other day.

Aww, that's sweet! You shoulda told me, I have a very phallic shot of the installation that I took the other day.

Is Gothamist a bit randy these days? Yesterday it's "long and hard and juicy" pickles; today it's a concrete-and-balloon phallus...

But, Anil, I am strongly against having the birthday boy involved in any sort of birthday shoutout to himself, even a belated one. Let that be principle stand for all birthday people, especially ones whose birthday is on September 26.

Hm. Birthday shoutouts, what an interesting idea. Wouldn't it be convenient if there were someone associated with Gothamist whose birthday it was today.
