Push-in Bandits

2003_9_stickup.jpgA pair of robbers has been terrorizing residents in Gramercy Park, East Village and Chelsea. Their M.O. is to watch people entering their apartments or knock on their doors and then force their way in. They demand cash, cellphones, and sometimes drugs, leading police to believe they are junkies. The Post notes the locations of the robberies:

- March 15, at 2:39 a.m., on West 16th Street, between Sixth and Seventh Avenues.
- March 17, at 12:01 a.m., on West 16th Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.
- April 7, at 12 a.m., on West 15th Street, between Eighth and Ninth Avenues.
- Aug. 29, at 1:30 a.m., on East 11th Street, between Avenue B and Avenue C.
- Aug. 29, at 7:40 p.m., on West 16th Street, between Sixth and Seventh Avenues.
