The British (Taxis) Are Coming (to Westchester)!

2003_9_brittaxi.jpgA new way to get your Anglophilia on in the New York area, without resorting to Soho House or yet another packet of fish & chips: British taxi cabs are coming to a Westchester-area livery cab company. No word on whether the drivers will say, "Hallo, guv'nor!"

Okay, it's Westchester, not NYC, but if anyone is making a trip from Westchester to the city, make it in a British taxi. Maybe this will encourage the Taxi & Limousine Commission that we need those huge taxis that can hold about ten people, clown car style.

Cool - now can we get some yellow NY cabs in London please - kind of like a swap.

"It's all part of the Cabbie Exchange Program, to make sure that no cabbie speaks the language of the country where he works."

With a 5 hour layover in London, maybe I should go and check out the London cabbies and get some decent food instead of hibernating at the lounge at Heathrow.

Mommy, you should at least be buying me British DVDs and music if not photographing British cabs.

What make are the British Cabs? A friend said they were Bentleys?
