Woo hoo? Boo hoo. This was a horrible letdown; I'm trying to remember why I even saw it the first time?

Rent Little Darlings or the Bad News Bears or something instead.

I liked it because it was so stupid. And I find Michael Showalter charming. Sue me.

much agreed Jen!...this is one of my fav movies, thanks for the posting...showalter is the man.
"good..cuz i have something at 11"
"oh, you have a trapperkeeper full of appointments?"
"no, i just have something at 11, and i've already moved it twice"

This movie is a practice in absurdity and it is absolutely brilliant. Too those high and mighty intellectuals who think it stupid or foolish, perhaps you're not as smart as think. To those who are stupid to begin with and can't appreciate the film, well, I feel sorry for you.

bah! i would REALLY love to go to this, but i'm gonna be out of town. shoot. fie. phooey.

i guess this is one of those love it or hate it movies. as far as i am concerned it is the best straight-up comedy of the past 10 years or so and just gets better the more you watch it. and the DVD extras? SO GOOD! hothouse corn!

"This movie is a practice in absurdity and it is absolutely brilliant."

um, no. that's just bullshit pseudo-intellectualist speak. it's like the art at the Brooklyn Museum that gets Rudy's combover in a tizzy; IT'S NOT ART IT'S JUST ELEPHANT DUNG. this movie just elephant dung and at least I can see the emperor isn't wearing any clothes.

Hey, I loved The State as much as the next guy. But while there are some funny parts, there's enough flab in this camp movie they should be advertising it the back of the NYT Magazine.

It reminds me (ducking) of BASEketball, another coulda-been great film with a script that needed some firming and toning.

Oh, and Chris Ofili is so not the emperor's new clothes...

I think this is a great movie that is very funny. I don't understand how ppl can say it's crap. Maybe you just don't have a very good sense of humour. Or perhaps you just need to get a life.
