The Post lets us know where the hot post-MTV Video Music Awards parties are going to be, who is expected to be there, and how to crash. Venues include the Four Seasons (Madonna, Fatboy Slim, Fred Durst), Show (P. Diddy's bash, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce Ed Burns, the Hilton girls), Tao (Avril, Tim Robbins, Rosario Dawson, Tony Hawk), Splashlight Studios (The Donnas, Drew & Fabrizio, Iggy Pop), and we're sure enterprising kids will be photoblogging the festivites. Or check out the celebrity A-, B-, and C-list yourself from the streets that will be closed off (bottom of page).

navel gazing... omphaloskepsis.
and yes, I slept at a Days Inn last night.
The media blitz MTV has created around the VMAs is really remarkable, considering I have a black-and-white television with no cable, yet have heard about this thing no less than once a day for the past week.
Well done to MTV for reaching people well out of its demographic via print and bus-stop ads, Big Brother tie-ins, reputed celebrity stunt marriages and NYC nightlife promotions.
I haven't thought about the VMAs since my teen years, so have they always promoted them this rabidly or am I on to something?
I think the VMAs get bigger and bigger, as sort of a "You don't want to miss what will happen this year," with their version of watershed moments being Madonna at the first VMAs, Michael Jackson & Lisa Marie, Britney's striptease... I will be tuning in for Chris Rock's hilarity myself. And Coldplay.
This should be the M2 VMAs. Last I checked M2 was the station that actually shows videos.
Chris rock is funny. But I don't have cable. Will they be airing it in taxicabs?
Glenn, re: your comment, you can be sure that some variation on that theme will be a Chris Rock joke.
