A nine year-old girl, with a 4 year-old boy accomplice, took the keys to her parents' Mistubishi Montero and managed to drive it a mile from Little Ferry, NJ to Hackensack, before crashing into cars and hitting an 84 year-old man. God, either parents are getting dumber or kids are getting smarter. According to the Times, neighbors saw the kids drive the car out of their townhouse complex, but did nothing to stop them. Seriously, who are these people? Maybe the auto industry will need to develop "anti-child-driving" mechanisms to save itself.
There was a little boy in another part of NJ who was a familiar car/lawnmower/school bus joyriding figure to the police.

I guess the kids really want to get out of Jersey.
This just goes to show, once again, that women can't drive.
"...the girl was 'visibly shaking and crying.' The boy, dressed only in a T-shirt and underpants, appeared unfazed."
That's hilarious.
A good beating should prevent repeat performances. Perhaps the beatings should be televised on Saturday morning cartoons as a deterrent to other underage drivers.
What's next? Kids under 21 drinking? 12 yr olds having sex? 16 yr olds smoking?? What has become of this wonderful place known as the United States.
AND - they say prayer has no place in schools or government. With all the crap going on - I am considering shaving my head and rubbing budha's belly until things change!
I think being a 9 year old illegal driver and prayer in school are separate things, but I agree with the general frustration at humanity. We're all savages.
Smack happy,
er... nice try. explain again how prayer in school would have helped in this case?
we're all just animals unless we're christians hm? I bet these kids go to church.
Old people have been mowing over plenty of kids lately - about time for some payback.
About time kids get some payback.....after all, old people have been mowing them down for years. Cheers kids!
