Kate Spade for Song

Kate Spade for Song; Photo - NY TimesDesigner Kate Spade and husband Jack have designed uniforms for Delta's low-cost carrier, Song. We think it's incredibly clever, because even though Song is low-cost, it just means the tickets are, not the experience.

Gothamist was on a Delta flight from Tampa to NY with a Song crew a week and a half ago, and even though the flight took three hours longer, we only kept it together because the crew was stellar. Song flight attendants offer to carry your bags for you and seem generally more relaxed and accomodating than usual crews - they joked and poked fun at each other on the PA system for our amusement. So we truly feel they deserve some stylish threads while dealing with cranky flyers.

Forbes on Song's chances.

Delta Song really let me down. They lost my two bags and the tv's did not work the entire flight. The captin said that it was a problem with the power or something like that. They fly the old Delta 757 airplane which was not that great although the did put in new carpet in seat covers. As for the uniforms, the all male crew on my flight just had gray pants and yellow polo shirts. Is that Kate Spade too?

Well Mike Rogers, seeing as we have to purchase the uniforms, the price tag says it all. Then again, it's better than paying just under the same price for a standard issue Delta navy blue Grief Uniform sack-dress with a belt that can only be described as the most embarassing piece of schwag outfit I've ever had to wear. As for the real thing; JetBlue, though a great airline, is just a rehash itself that luckily has been able to avoid being taken over by the remaining big three, a fate suffered by the ones who came before JetBlue ever took off, remember New York Air? Muse Air? PSA?.

I think someone should check to see if Song is using real Kate Spade uniforms and bags or the cheesy Canal Street version - everything else about Delta's Song is a knock-off. I'll stick with the real thing: JetBlue!

The husband would be Andy, not Jack.
