Smelly Train

NY subway; Photo - NY Daily NewsIf you're riding the 7 train and it suddenly smells worse than some public rest stop off the highway, you're not imagining things: Raw sewage has been seeping onto the trackbed near the Flushing stop. Some transit officials think the leak is from a sink, but workers feel it has to be from elsewhere: "Nobody's sink smells like that, not even a fish market. It's definitely a toilet."

Um, ever been on the Q platform at Canal Street? That bubbly brown stuff seeping out of the walls and running underfoot smells like the collective runoff from all the rotten food in every restaurant trashbin in Chinatown. Positively medieval.

How ironic is it that the sewage seeped out near the Flushing stop.

  • So I thought that New York allways smelled like that.
