Sonic Hopefulness?

BlurBlur was interviewed by CNN to discuss their new album Think Tank. Besides the obligatory mention of their place in Britpop and Oasis, the interview includes bassist Alex James saying about the album, "It is full of images of hope. Sonic hopefulness." Sonic hopefulness. Okay. Whatever.

Blur sucks. Oasis is better. I mean anyone who can write "saw you walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball" in allright in my book.

Ps sterophonics are actually a great brit band as well.

yeah but Oasis couldn't have written "charmless man" or "coffee & tv."

so there.

Ahhhhh, I feel like a chain store — practically floored.

Alex James has been looking fairly haggard the last few years.

Haggard is that really hot way. Hilton will back me up.

There's no real answer in the Blur vs. Oasis debate, but in terms of pure tabloid pleasure, it's Oasis all the way. I'm more into Noel than Liam as a musician, but Liam's insanity makes my day usually. I'm waiting for three more women to come out of the woodwork with his children.

I don't know exactly which Oasis brother is which, but my favorite is the one who looks like Mr. Bean.

I think I meant to write ‘relatively’. Alex used to out fop boyishly cute Damon. Now they’re all so tan and rugged.

Think Tank is o.k. , but Blur is not half the band they were with Mr. Coxon on guitar.

Think Tank is such a disapointment. Gimme Park Life or Modern Life Is Rubbish!

Overall, I'd take Blur's catalog over that Oasis any ol' day. Not even a close call.

I agree, Blur is definately a better band than Oasis, though I do like Oasis as well. But when I saw them at Roseland a couple weeks ago, I kept noticing how Alex really is starting to look like Dr. Kovac from ER. Which is always a good thing in my book.

Catalog wise, Blur is much stronger, I do agree. But in terms of making asses of themselves, I love Oasis.

Oasis had six no.1's, Blur had only two. But still, Country House kept Roll With It from no.1, and Oasis just have more publicity, but I still like them. Theoretically speaking, Blur are better.

what is the name of the oasis songwhere they say "saw you walkin down the hall, faster than a cannonball"

the whole oasis brother v. brother conflict makes my day, but blur wins hands-down as the better band. and think tank was a very good album, even without Graham.

They both suck. Nothing will ever beat Sabbath or Maiden.

Blur has a few amazing songs whereas Oasis have a few amzing albums.

(what the story) morning glory? defines the 90's and is without doubt the best album ever.
