Pat Buchanan, Get Ready to Get Queer

2003_8_queermsnbc.jpg

At least Bravo/NBC is putting the Fab Five to work on people who need some queering up. Tonight, the Queer Eye boys appear on Buchanan/Press. Yes, Pat Buchanan and Bill Press - old dudes. They are supposed to get a "full 'Queer Eye' assessment." Someone TiVo this.

If it's Queer, it's here.

I've had enough of these guys.. I haven't even seen a single episode, but they are a tad overexposed.

However, I will watch the episode with Artie Lang (if they air it).

Overexposed? In my book, they will only be overexposed when they start trying to fix up my father.

HEY, there is an Artie Lang episode?!!! Wow, thats cool . I love the show and I also listen to the H. Stern show, how could I miss that? Thanx for the info.

I must agree with hamster, these guys are such sell-outs...

Fixing up nasty old politicians who oppose gay marriage and sodomy? C'mon, a little integrity, please!

I met Mr. Buchanan in DC in 1988 - had a nice 15-minute conversation with him. He was very charming, and enthusiastically guffawed at my jokes and barbs - mostly out of politness, I think. I was still in jeans-and-sneakers-all-the-time mode back then. I noticed his shoes - they were well-polished. As I've gotten older, I've developed strong opinions about shining shoes. Shoe polishing is democratic - it's something most men do themselves or spend just a small amount of money to have done. A man with a shiny pair of Florsheims is worth more in my book than a man wearing scuffed-up Salvatore Ferragamos. Shined shoes are the mark of a conscientious man. I have made gifts of shoe-shine kits to wayward friends, and I keep my great-uncle's shoe-shine box, assembled from orange crates around 1925, in my dining room.

An old girlfriend of mine looked at me funny when I told her that I wanted a shoe shining kit for Christmas . . . but she got it and appreciated the effort on my part. Ended up polishing her shoes as well so she was happy.

saw this (a friend from the ACLU was on earlier in the show) and Pat Buchanan did not deign to speak with the QUEER EYE men.
