Hmm, we'll take it under consideration, marie. Maybe when J & K have a kid or when I decide to settle down, if ever. But honestly, I rather have a panda dog. That is guaranteed cute. With a kid, I'm worried that it won't be cute - I am that vain. And that I can't teach it to read. Or potty train it. So I rather deal with a panda dog.

gothamist - i love this site. oh, and i love another site i think you should add to the links on the right. urbanbaby. it's gothamist-like, only for hipster mothers (and some fathers). the message boards are crazy active and function in a blog-like way. quite unique, check them out. i know most of us gothamists don't have kids, but some do (me).

If you don't like "ratdogs," don't buy them. I don't like them, so I don't have them. There's nothing wrong with people owning them if they like them. Other people owning them won't threaten your masculinity--don't worry.

i just saw part of a seinfeld episode last night where kramer has his own "talk show" and has an animal trainer as a guest. the trainer brought a hawk, and george brought his squirrel for the trainer to look at--you can guess the rest...

I've got it--send all the ratdogs in NY to Sharon Osbourne, the Grand Dame of All RatDogs. They can live their spoiled little lives pissing on expensive Persian rugs. (Just save one for me so he can sit in a coffee mug on my desk and keep me company at work.)

not everyone in japan loves the little dogs. check out http://whyjapansucks.blogspot.com (see 8/1 through 8/3). long haired dachsunds seem to be the current rage and their owners like to purchase them in herds of at least two.
