A Sheepshead Bay sewer treatment plant caught fire yesterday, which according to the Times, "sent a putrid smell drifting across Brooklyn." A DEP spokesperson said if the 113 year old plant's odor control system is not restored soon, the odor of sulfur (rotten eggs) might linger in the humid "air for some time." Gothamist mental note: No trips to Coney Island/Sheepshead Bay for a while. But, wait, if a seal can survive the Gowanus...

Too bad Willamsburg didn't burn down.
I (heart) Brooklyn.
Well, parts of it.
turns out that my company designed that plant. lucky for us we weren't responsible in any way for the fire.
