Tourist Attacked on East 78th

E. 78th Street; Photo - NY Daily NewsA tourist was attacked last night at 9PM on East 78th Street, between Lexington and Park Avenues. The attacker hit the tourist from Toronto, Lili Sun, a few times with a bottle, trying to get her purse, but she held on since it had her cell phone and passport. It was, apparently, her first trip to NY ever. Oddly enough, the Post said that Sun wanted to give her first name only, but the Daily News printed her full name.

The Daily News lists other acts of senseless violence, like the terrible incident when Nicole Barrett, a tourist, was bashed in the head with a paving stone in 1999. The News is also quick to point out this is just steps away from Mayor Bloomberg's townhouse.
