Misha vs. Big: Carrie's Final Sex and The City Showdown

Sarah Jessica Parker, Mikhail Baryshnikov

Hmm, first came news that David Duchovny had signed on to play a love interest for Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City. Now, the Times' Bill Carter breaks who will be the final romantic interest for Carrie this season: Mikhail Baryshnikov. Baryshnikov will play an artist of "extreme importance," someone with the kind of "scale" that makes Big look like a high school sweetheart. But there is no word who Carrie will end up wtih.

Frankly, Gothamist is in a dither. Ron Livingston's Jack Berger was such an ass, then foxy Mulder will be a part of the picture...and finally the greatest living dancer of our time? Huh?

Anyone know of a place that's having a "final episode" sort of party in NYC for Sex and the City?

  • She could never go back to Berger after the Post-It incident - that was so pathetic. Berger is history, just totally juvenile, self-centered and immature. I'm still holding out for her winding up with Aidan.

And yay for Charlotte! I stood outside the Upper West Side synagogue where last Sunday's episode was being filmed for like an hour and a half, ultimately we got a glimpse of the guy who plays Harry and Kristin Davis, who we discreetly walked behind for half a block till she got in her trailer. But I still want to be surprised by the ending...maybe I'm in the minority on that one.

  • berger rocks

    Baryshnikov looks decrepit.

Candace Bushnell is married to a dancer--although he's younger than she is....maybe taking inspiration from that?

  • Livingston was great in Office Space. However, Livinston's character "Berger" IS an insecure ass... And how about that silly ending...where Burger ditches Carrie in the morning and they do a slow-mo shot of Carrie knocking over her flowers. What were they thinking?

Well, it's a crappy image I uploaded I admit, but re-watching The First Wives' Club, I was taken by how she has a hot body but is just not very conventionally attractive - it's the comic timing that sells her appeal, I think.

She's just straight up fugly, man!
