I didn't know about the project, but went to Roosevelt island just for fun during the weekend (kept seeing the signs for the project though once we were there). For $4.25 (RT tram + bus) and a 15 minute walk, I got to see a muslim family bbq, people who should know better than to fish in the east river, a nice park, and folks in every imaginable sort of wheelchair begging and hanging out in what appeared to be a "High Street" from an English New Town. That plus great views make it worth the trip. But, I wouldn't want to live there, or spend $90 to be transported.

I went on the Angel Project this past wkd and tho I do in fact feel cooler for having done so, do also feel broker as well. Without spoiling anything, I must comment that the Project successfully transported me into another dimension of perceiving the city and I quite enjoyed it.

Hmm, Jen, perhaps, as a representative member of the feedback community, I'd like to express doubts as to whether shelling out $90 for an "art experience" will help you be cool.

For $90, if you are willing to look beyond the major galleries, you can definitely find some nicely priced origninal art to hang on your walls by an emerging artist.

The Lincoln Center web page says: "Student discounts are not available for Lincoln Center Festival 2003 Kirov Opera or Angel Project performances." At $20 it sounds interesting. At $90, rather pricey...

There was a student discount for $20, but could not get it. Plus, I have that whole "I need to do this so I can be cool" late-adopter mentality, so, according to psychologists, this is not very surprising that I shelled out the coin for this.

I don't know much about how art experiences are priced, but 90 dollars seems pretty steep.
