Get a Pet

Posi the Persian; Photo - Reuters China's pet ownership is booming due to growth and liberalization; pet ownership had been deemed "too bourgeouis" for the common man, but now bourgeouis is good in China. Posi the Persian cat, seen at the Pet Expo in Shanghai, is going for about US$420, but Gothamist recommends any pet owners to adopt a pet, perhaps from the ASPCA. And did you know that July is "Adopt a Rescued Rabbit Month"? As profiled in yesterday's Times real estate section, Amy Sedaris has a pet bunny named Duffy, who has a special cage in the apartment. And, fellow Amy fans, apparently she's going to be waitressing at Mary's Fish Camp this summer.

I feel Posi captures my current mood quite accurately.

that's the last time i'm going to mary's fish camp- it would be too traumatic.

I'm sorry. I'm the ultimate cat lover...but that cat looks like a hairy a-hole. And he's pissed about it.

Sadly, I think Duffy has demised and is in the victory garden in the sky.

because of this post i can't come to the gothamist without having difficulty breathing and a fit of sneezing.
just look at the cat's eyes... i bet if you drop water on him he'll turn into a gremlin... (or just sprout other mogwais... i can't remember the ruleset from that movie)

This cat is so fluffy and angry. I love it!
